Our First Family Vacation!

Girls, we have just gotten back from our very first, super special, short, wonderful, dreamy family vacation!  For many years, Mommy dreamed of having a child to take places and enjoy in all new ways.  Daddy was bitten with that bug, too.  But we weren't sure if it would ever come to pass.  So, our little low budget trip to Myrtle Beach was like living a dream come true - with TWO babies!

Last April (2010), Mommy and Daddy went to Myrtle Beach and stayed at Springmaid on the beach.  Mommy was HUGE and could barely get around.  This time, I had the pleasure of strolling you girls around their neat property, letting you taste all kinds of new foods for y'all at breakfast, and being on cloud 9 all the while.

Here are some pictures and comments so that we can remember all the special nuances of this first family vacation.
On the way to walk on the pier.  This is the building where our room was on the 2nd floor.
Mommy walked across this lawn a year ago carrying you in my tummy.....waddled may be the better word.
Your Daddy and I tried to imagine bringing you back here and enjoying watching you in spots like this!
This lady was one of the many, many kind folks who gave y'all such sweet attention.
It was amazing how kind people were and how many times we were asked, "Are they twins?"

First stop - Check out the bed.....ok, now what?

First experience on a balcony!  Glad you have that helmet, Molly!

We enjoyed walking on the Springmaid Pier with y'all!  It was perfect weather!
We laughed about a man who stopped us and asked if y'all were both girls.
You were both wearing your cute, pink polka dot sunhats.....

Self Timer Picture of our family!  Girls....you have to learn to count down from 10!

Oh My, the FUN y'all had in this crib.  You played together so very well!
Macy, during this particular picture, you were GIDDY....laughing harder than I've ever heard you laugh.
I couldn't get enough.  What a fun time!

It is a little crazy that Daddy and I looked forward to Springmaid's breakfast buffet as much as we did!
The great thing was that y'all got to taste foods you haven't ever had before!
You were adorable trying to get the fruit and potatoes in your mouths.

My little Macy....what's more cute?  The hat? or the Cheeks?

Beautiful property at Brookgreen Gardens!  We loved every bit of it!

Our little family sitting under an arch at Brookgreen Gardens...the lighting in this spot was like a movie set....too bad we weren't looking glamorous!
This was a picture I've been wanting to take for a long time!
This is in Anne's Garden at Brookgreen Gardens, Murrells Inlet.
Hoppy Spring Everyone!

To be continued.....

10 Months - Busy Busy Busy!

We are 1/2 way through our 10th month.....life has changed so much. Here are a few things going on new with the girls this month:
  • Molly got a tooth a few weeks ago
  • Macy got a tooth that we just discovered yesterday, on April Fools' Day! (She really did get one.)
  • The girls are smiling more at each other and make each other laugh...it is one of my favorite treasures of having twins.
  • They have also started copying each other....like putting their hand up to their mouth and making the "ah ah ah ah ah" sound....one will start and the other will copy.
  • Drumrollllllll Please: the girls can hold their own bottles now!! It isn't failproof, but it is wonderful....and as I type, they are passing a bottle back and forth....Macy'll take a swig...and then Molly.....
  • Just yesterday, also on April Fools Day, Molly pulled up on the Jungle Toy allllll by herself! She stayed there for a long time and seemed to really like the feeling!
Life is crazy busy and Mommy is looking very forward to summer vacation since I feel like I'm not able to keep up with the pace that life has taken on lately.....but I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Sharon and Mrs. Sandy came to visit us today!  Guess what Sharon made for me!  MACARONI and CHEEEESE!
You know true friends when they show up on your doorstep....you answer it with your curlers in your hair....and they don't even flinch.   AND they're holding macaroni and cheese in their sweet hands.

We had a great great great time at Brother Ralph's 50th Surprise Birthday Party!
Brother Ralph and his wife, Melissa, made a huge impact on my life that continues today.
I am honored to know them and so happy to get a sweet hug from him on his special occasion.

Can you tell they're very happy about it?
There's the big girl!  Standing up on her own!

10 Months Old

These posts sure are getting less and less wordy, eh?  Macy and Molly are keeping their Momma busy!
They are so much more active these days, and life has changed here on Elmwood Blvd.
I will come back and put more info...but, I know....you're here for the pictures.  :)
Me, too!

Lots of changes and busy - ness have been going on around here these last two weeks.

Here's a list....'cause Mommy's too tired to write proper paragraphs right now.
  • Molly, you've started to do the "army crawl"...pulling yourself along with your arms....but in the last two days, March 5 and 6, you've started pullling your knees up and you're on the brink of using your knees to help you.
  • Macy, you have made Mommy and Daddy so happy because you've started rolling a lot more....you've gone through a phase of being content to stay in one spot.  But, now, you're rolling more.  Getting your arm out from under you once you roll is still a little tough, but....you're on the move.
  • Both of you have been doing little dances....your Daddy and I call it "The Worm".  Molly you kinda started it....and Macy has her own variation of it....even more fun is the fact that you're copying us now...when we start "the worm"....sometimes you both will get a look in your eyes....and copy us...with a smile.
  • Speaking of smiles.....you girls make your Mommy and Daddy so very very happy.  Thank you!
  • We got rid of our couch this week...gave it to Lindsay for her new apartment.....and we have so much more room in our den, now.....it is wonderful!  We put a new picture of y'all over the mantle....the picture of you in the field right after your doctor's appointment on Mommy's birthday.  I love that picture so much and you both look so happy in it!
  • At the doctor, for your 9 months visit, you got glowing reports.  Yay!  Macy, you weigh 18 pounds and Molly, you weigh 17 pounds.
  • I started planning your birthday party this week! I'm excited to make it special for you. I just don't want you to grow up.
  • Your Daddy lowered the crib mattresses on both cribs yesterday.....for once, we beat y'all to a stage of development :).
  • And, Mommy lost a little bit more of her brain cells this week.  Here's an example:  I left a note yesterday for your Daddy this weekend... (I was going to the grocery store) The note said, "You're a great Dad. Thanks for all you do. There's some leftover bananas (for the girls) in the crib." CRIB. And it wasn't leftover bananas. It was apples.
    Get close, Macy!
Molly is in the background of our newly 'less cluttered' room....nice to have some breathing room.
    Macy loves driving the ship!
    Macy at the Park
Play Date #2 - fun, fun!  This is at Daniel and Dylan's house....
Grandaddy, you're so smart.  Thanks for letting us sit in your chair!
    Molly investigates her first ladybug!
Picture taken by Mrs. Vance, edited by Mommy....I love this one!!

*Mrs. Lee, this is the outfit we got with your moo-lah the other day!  Thank you so much!
    Molly, 9 months
Mommy dug down deep and got brave enough to take y'all to the grocery store because she needed to get some things for special company, the Germano family.  I really planned this trip carefully and we had a rolling day care by the time it was all over.  Y'all did great and I was very proud of you!!
Molly is being a big girl and using her sippy cup!
Can you see her smiling behind the cup?

Molly is on the MOOOOVE

Yesterday was such a big day for Molly.  She had her first official appointment to get her DOC Band.  We drove to Charlotte and she got her pictures taken by their big ol' machine.  She did great.  The appointment was fast, and we were on our way back home.  Both of the girls are great travelers, which is MUCH appreciated!!

Molly charmed the folks at Cranial Technologies.

She started scooting last night and is in full swing scooting now.  It is absolutely amazing to me.  Charles and I are in awe!  She's also doing what we call "the worm".....rubbing her head against the floor and twisting her body in the cutest motion.  She's taught Macy and now Macy's doing it too!

Tonight, Grandaddy and Grandma Mary came over and Grandaddy crawled with Molly on the floor.  It was adorable!

Picture Day

We're on the eve of 9 months..... I cannot believe it.  This coming Thursday, the girls will be in their last single digit month.  Yikes!

Today, I did something I've never done before!  I took the girls out and about by myself TWICE.  That will probably not happen again for a long time.  The first trip out was to get clothes to wear in our pictures during the afternoon.  My sister in law, Krissy, also enjoys photography and agreed to take pictures of me and the girls so that there would be proof that I was a part of their childhood.  She did a great job and I will treasure these pictures forever!  Thank you, Krissy!

This picture was taken in our back yard.  Macy (L) Molly (R)
You girls were great sports today!  I was very impressed with you!

Mommy loves you, Macy Lorene McCall!

Mommy loves you, Molly Christie McCall!

Mommy took this picture of you on our second adventure of the day.
I took you to the Clemson Extension Station near our house.  They have awesome property for the community to enjoy!
I love this row of old trees.  It was MUCH colder than I realized and the wind was whipping y'alls hair!
But you smiled and enjoyed it.....the wind kept taking your breath and I think you liked it!
Happy Macy

Adventurous Molly

I hope you all have a great week!
Thanks for visiting our blog!

Our First Play Date!

At 8 1/2 months old, Macy and Molly, you had four boys over to play!
These ladies are all teachers or former teachers at Mommy's school and y'all were all born in the same year!
In fact, in this picture, you're all sitting in age order.  Youngest (top, left) to oldest (bottom, right).
We had so much fun!

Our house was filled with precious babies and curiosity!

We're looking forward to more Play Dates in the future!
