One Month - HOW??

How has a WHOLE entire month passed?
I now understand why people say, "They grow up so fast...."
We are so in love with these girls.
Thanks so much for checking in on our blog!

Today I had my postpartum doctor's appointment and that reminded me that my visits with those wonderful folks are coming to an end.  Dr. Risinger said my blood pressure seems to be back under control...so I can stop taking the medicine - yay!  I'll see her one more time in two weeks and then my withdrawals from seeing Mrs. Sylvia and Dr. R and the others will begin.  :(  I owe Melissa Hilton big time for sending me in the direction of that practice.

3 Weeks Old

Somebody slow down time!!!  I don't understand how they can be almost a month old already.

We took the girls to the Doctor yesterday and got a great, "They're perfect", report!
Macy now weighs SIX POUNDS!
Molly now weighs 5 pounds 12 1/2 ounces!
This means they've each gained a pound since their birth!  I think it is all in their cheeks.
I love them SO much I can't stand it!!!

Two Weeks Old

Well.....can you believe it?  The girls are a little over two weeks old.  Kids grow up so fast.  :)  I cannot believe how happy I am.  Macy and Molly are absolutely precious and I'm thrilled to call them mine.

The girls first two weeks have been BUSY!  As you may know, Molly came home from the NICU on Sunday, May 23.  And life with twins at our home began.

Each of the girls has had their Newborn Check Up with the Pediatrician.  He said they were "perfect"!
They also had a weight check/follow up type appointment.........and........drumroll......each of them weigh over 5 pounds!

Molly went up from 4 pounds 11.5 ounces to 5 pounds 1 ounce!
Macy went up from 4 pounds 13.5 ounces to 5 pounds 3 ounces!

Aunt Ginger came to visit from Massachusetts and her timing was perfect.  The doctor sent me to the hospital to get a blood transfusion due to toxemia/excessive swelling/anemia.  So, Charles stayed with the girls at home...and Ginger stayed at the hospital with me as we watched the clock for 12 hours.  I couldn't WAIT to get home to see the girls.  Ginger was a great conversationalist...and I showed all the nurses and techs pictures of the girls.   They very sweetly obliged.

Here are some pictures from the last few days.  Thanks for visiting our blog.

Charles and I are having more fun than we had ever imagined with these two little miracles.  I am so very happy.
Here are a few pictures from the last few days.

Molly comes home!

Wooooooooooooo Hooooooooooooo!

Charles, Macy and I came home from the hospital Thursday evening but Molly couldn't come with us.  They told us they thought it would be the beginning of the week before they handled that.

Yesterday, when we went to visit Molly at the hospital, we learned that if Molly passed the carseat test and another Jaundice test, she'd be allowed to come home!

They asked Charles and I to take a CPR course and then released us!  More details coming....but for now, click on the scrolling slideshows and it'll get bigger for you.  :)

Macy & Molly are Here!

Charles and I are "over the moon" with thankfulness and are loving everything about these girls.  The girls came earlier than expected...they were born Monday, May 17 around 7:45 PM.  Macy weighed 5 pounds and Molly weighed 4 pounds 13 ounces.  Molly has been in the NICU since Monday and has worked hard to prove herself in all the areas they were concerned about.  Macy was able to stay in the Newborn Nursery.   We don't have many pictures at all of the two of them together....YET!

I will post more details later, but look to the right for a scrolling slideshow of pictures.  Click it to make it bigger.

Thanks for caring about what's going on in our lives and I promise to put more pictures and info up soon.

We are hopefully heading to the NICU this morning to pick up Molly and bring her home!  We're waiting on the big phone call!

35 Weeks ---- 9 days to go!!

We had a good visit today.... we got to see the girls on the big screen.  Mrs. Sylvia did our last ultrasound. It is such a treat to have such a kind soul lead you through the ultrasounds.  She estimated that each of the girls weigh 5 pounds and 10 ounces!  They have longggg legs and at least one of them has hair that measured around an inch long!!  That's longer than their Daddy's hair!

The countdown is on....and Momma is R-E-A-D-Y!!!!!

Showers of Blessing Indeed!

I wanted to share some pictures from the showers that generous friends have hosted for us.

I don't take it lightly at all that friends have been so giving and supportive.  It means the world to me.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Showered by SEAGUL-ians

Showered by friends at Doby's Mill

Showered by Friends and Family

And then, there are a few 'secret angels' out there who have done some mighty generous things 'on the sly'.  I have learned a lot about sacrificial giving and what a thoughtful gesture can mean to someone.  You ladies know who you are, and I am forever touched.

Why Macaroni & Cheese???

The reason for the blog address.......

On the day that I told my students at school about my expecting twins....one of my students, Adrianna, quickly suggested that I could name the babies "Macaroni and Cheese".  The kids (sadly, I know) know how much I like Macaroni and Cheese....so, it was a thoughtful suggestion!

That became the twins' nickname...and it really caught on.  For Christmas treats, I gave the kids a box of mac and cheese.   At the wonderful shower some friends gave me at school, my Principal made deee-licious Macaroni and Cheese in her crock pot!  Wonderful!  On my last day before leaving for bedrest, we had a Stomach Activity which included .... mac and cheese!

Can't Sleep...

It is mighty hard to sleep these days .... trying to get up from a lying position is very much like when a bug is turned over on its back....and can't get up.

A little bit of an update - when I was at the doctor last, the girls had flipped.  Their heads were both down.  That's a good sign, huh?

Charles and I have almost finished THE LIST :).   I'm so thankful!

There are two bouncy seats in our den and soon to be two swings.  I got the swings from consignment type places....great deals....and they match!

I'm excited to know my sister, Ginger, has bought plane tickets to be down here to help for a few days when Charles goes back to work after the babies come.  I look forward to that!

Any tips you want to share with me?  I'd love to learn from your experience....click "Comments" below to leave a note.

Hope you're doing well.  :)

Memory Lane

Here's a video from way back to the 9 week point of our pregnancy. This was the first time Charles and I had gotten to see the babies moving. They both were dancing .... and looked just like teddy grahams. Charles laughed so hard and we just shook our heads in awe. Even in the womb, these babies have more coordination than their Momma.

32 Weeks - The Home Stretch

Can you believe that we've made it to 8 months? I can't!

At my doctor's appointment today, the babies weren't interested in the paparazzi....so no great pictures to share. The babies each weighed approximately 4 pounds 3 ounces. Mommy weighs slightly more. :)

But, I do have NEWS! Dr. Risinger scheduled our big day for May 20th! Of course, things could happen earlier, but I am excited to have a date.

That's a month from today!!

Charles has been doing a great job working down the list of things to get done. Plus he has been doing lots of housework, too. I have been amazed at how little I am able to do. My big ol' honkin' feet are holding me back. Plus lots of other fun pregnancy hurdles. You might see me driving around in those automated carts in the stores because my feet can't take it. It is crazy!

30 weeks - Nose to Nose

This picture amazes me! Hopefully you can see that the babies are nose to nose...face to face. The sonographer, Sylvia - who is SOOOO wonderful at her job, was excited to see them in this position. She said that she'd never seen twins in this position before and she printed out a whole lot of them! Very special day for 'us'. The doctor was also really interested because she'd never seen a picture like that either. I'm really going to miss my ultrasound visits!
At this point, the girls each weighed approximately 3 and 1/2 pounds. Their heartrates are strong.
We're amazed, humbled and thankful for each visit where we get encouraging news. That is putting it mildly!

Oh my goodness! I had no idea how much fun it would be to look at little baby clothes.
Thanks to family and friends, our girls have an amazing supply of clothes. We'll be changing outfits every hour! If the girls weigh less than 5 pounds, they'll be wearing these little outfits home from the hospital.
