Another Wonderful Farm! The Branhams!

Trip to Old McCaskill's Farm

Old McCaskill's Farm is an amazing 'gem' of a place on the outskirts of Camden....they have an impressive Bed and Breakfast....and celebrate Farm Days occasionally.   I'm so thankful that my friend, Betsy, shared about this place!  We had the BEST TIME......it was PERFECT for the girls!  They currently love farm animals....their favorite books are the ones with pigs, cows, horses, and chickens....so, this was amazing for them.  Can't wait to go again!

Going in to the Bed and Breakfast to explore....

Uh oh....we better get out of here.....too many nice things!

So inviting!

Ducks!  Cack cack!

Look at the joy on their faces!

Peeeg!  Peeeg!

Honey Bees!

Look!!  Chicks!!  Cluck cluck!

Peeg!!!  Peeg!

Look!   Enormous Peeg!

This reminds me of my childhood....going down to Uncle Harveys,
and getting to watch the incubators and touching newly hatched chicks...
making their tiny chirping sounds.

On cue, Molly will stop and smell the flowers when I ask her to.
Macy will walk right by.  :)

Seeep!
Seep!
Baaaa.

Macy followed this little dog around for a long time!

He finally got smart, and rolled over and played dead.  Ha!

So Much to Say!

I get so frustrated with myself because I can't keep up with blogging about all the new words you're learning.  Just the other day, we were in a store and one of the employees said the word 'buckle' and Macy, you repeated it right back, clear as day!

I'm just going to brainstorm a list of some of my favorite recent new words here:
opi = open
cose = close
do = door
pay = play
bise = bath
cacker = cracker
sheer = share
wish = fish
ho = home
how = house
foooot = fruit
zzzthock = sock (sounds like you have peanut butter in your mouth)
lyte = said like my friends from G'ville = light
bye = said like the most southern person I know especially by Molly
waaa-dee-dee = water (Macy)
peeeg = pig
Kricky = Krissy
Ca Ca = Jessica

You like to play "Ring around the Rosy" and enjoy skipping to the part where we 'all fall dowwwwwwwn'!

I love the sound that you make when you want to know the word for something ... it is hard to know how to spell it, but it is something like, 'ahhh uhhhh' and you look back and forth between the object and me to see what the word for it is.  LOVE that!

Along the same lines, I love the way a smile grows and spreads across your sweet faces when you hear the word you're looking for...whether it be the word for a picture in a book....or when you're trying to tell us something or ask for something and we figure it out.....and the reward we get makes my heart SWELL.  I love seeing your satisfied smile, as if you're saying, "Oh yay, Momma understands me."

You sing "e-i-e-i-ooooooooooo" in the car along with the CD.....and in between songs, you both do some little sound effect which is so cute.

On a side note, you ABSOLUTELY AMAZE ME when we're riding down Percival Road and we start nearing Daddy's road, Melton Road, and you start saying, "Daddy" (grandadday)....and if we don't turn, several times you have started to CRY kind of hard.  WOW!  I love everything about that!

You're still making the sound "gun gunk" with you lips staying still when you want your pacifier and blanket....they bring you a lot of comfort.  I love seeing you snuggle in when you get them.

One of the things that I'm so proud of you girls for is that you sleep very well.  Your routine is very established and you like it!  When it is nap time, you almost always go happily to your room and reach up for your 'gun gunk'.  I walk out of your room and say, "Mommy loves you."  You lay there as if you're happy it is nap time. Now, there are exceptions, that's for sure!  Yesterday, MERCY, you two had a PARTY during the first hour of your nap.  You literally were running laps around in your crib and laughing and being so silly.  Eventually, you settled down.  And every now and then, you will beat us to time to go to bed by reaching toward your bedroom and saying, "Nigh Nigh".

I'm more in love with you today than yesterday.

Being your mommy is SO much fun!

Oh my heavens!

We've been so busy that I have neglected keeping up this blog, and now I'm so behind, that I don't know how to catch up.  Here are a few random pictures that make me smile.

Molly, you LOVE these glasses!  You wear them with all seriousness!
They came with your Sesame Street work/tool table.

See, we had to 'rig' them with a rubber band to stay on.
Macy, I love this picture of your cheeks!

We have turned our front porch into a play room of sorts....
we took the swing down that Aunt Sharon gave us, for the time being....
and y'all love to run out there!  We even let you run back
and forth , in and out, breaking all the rules from my
childhood of "keep the door shut" and "decide if you're going to be inside or outside"....
because y'all giggle and have so much fun coming in and out!

You are such happy girls.  I cannot believe that my answer, when people ask, "How old are they?"  is ALMOST TWO!!!!    Next month, we'll celebrate your 2nd birthday!

Spring has Sprung!

With each heavy rain we've had, more flowers pop open.....this has been a weird season to me.....it seems like winter didn't get a chance to finish or something - which is fine with me!  So, it has been wonderful to be outside and play.  We go to Grandaddy's a lot, and one of the great things about it is that the girls can play and play without me worrying too much about the cars going by, thanks to his big yard.

I keep thinking of things I want to blog about because I know they will be short lived, and hard to remember one day....so here's another little list:

  • Molly calls fruit, "foooot"
  • Macy now says "Yes!" and pumps her elbow/fist like a little boy she saw in a commercial!
  • Molly lifted her shirt yesterday to let Daddy's dog lick her belly!
  • The girls brush their hair out of their face in a 'super-star/royal/can't be bothered kind of way...it's adorable!
  • They've started holding hands when you ask them to (after about 3 or 4 requests)
  • They're doing a better job of staying with me when they need to ..... like yesterday, I took them to a bridal shower (crazy, I know)....I had to get them from the car to the house, plus a giant box that had a wreath in it.....I had Molly on one hip, the giant box in that same hand....and Macy holding my hand to walk to the house....thank HEAVENS she stayed with me!   I knew we'd only be able to stay for a few minutes before everything headed south....and we were able to stay for about 15 minutes....long enough to share a piece of ice cream cake!
  • They both got skinned knees for the first time this week....same knee, too!
  • Words that they're saying now......sissy, home, bir (bird), pane (plane), peas (please), cheese, lilla (Olivia) which is a word that can go many directions....love it!
  • Molly says "do" for 'door'....reminds me of Loretta Lynn calling her husband Doo
  • Did I blog yet about Molly saying "home" when we parked in the driveway one night after a long night.....oh my WORD, I love that memory!
  • They try to put their shoes on, but no luck yet....they can get them 1/2 way on.....
Molly, running down the hill at Grandaddy's....it is hard for
me to accept that they don't need my help anymore.

Pretty little country girl

Macy and Daddy and Omaha, the dog....I call him Bullet,
because he runs SO FAST and you have to get out
of his way!

Holding hands!

Look at that grin on Daddy's face!  Wonder what he's up to?

She put this bucket on her head in allllll seriousness and walked around.

When Macy did it, Molly thought it was hilarious.

Catching water rolling from the shed's roof.....dirty, but FUN!

Looks like Easter!

They went straight to the shed....this is where the goat food is......Molly started
saying, "Dooooooo", "Dooooooooooo"
